Email signup privacy notice

HJ Modecraft LLC provides Habit Modes and other products. This notice explains how we handle information from our Habit Modes and HJ Modecraft email signup forms and this privacy-notice page. It does not describe data handling inside the Habit Modes app.
Information you provide and the updates you choose
When you sign up, we collect your email address and any optional first name you provide, along with your signup and confirmation information and the update choices you make. You can choose Habit Modes updates or broader HJ Modecraft updates, which include Habit Modes. We use your choices to determine which updates to send. If you sign up only for Habit Modes updates, we won't send you news about our other products unless you choose to receive it.
An older signup form may also ask for a last name or birthday. If you provide those details there, they become part of your signup record.
Confirmation and email services
We use Mailchimp to manage signup information, subscription choices, confirmation and marketing email delivery. After you submit a signup form, we ask you to confirm your email address before adding you as a subscribed contact. Your marketing signup is separate from app account access or permission to back up app habits.
When you use a Mailchimp-hosted signup form, Mailchimp also collects the IP address associated with the signup and can derive an approximate location from it. This is different from precise location collected through your phone's location services. Mailchimp also maintains information about signup and confirmation, subscription status and your preferences.
Where email open or click tracking is enabled, Mailchimp records interactions with our emails to provide delivery and engagement reports. An apparent open or click can be caused by an email provider's privacy or security systems rather than your action.
Protecting signup forms
Our signup forms use Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent automated signups and abuse. When it runs, reCAPTCHA uses a necessary cookie and processes technical information to assess the request.
Retention and your choices
For signups through our Mailchimp form: If you don’t confirm your signup within 60 days, Mailchimp deletes your email address and other information you provided.
We keep confirmed subscriber information while you remain subscribed and the requested marketing purpose continues. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using their unsubscribe link. We retain only purpose-limited suppression information needed to respect your opt-out. Unsubscribing stops the relevant marketing; it does not necessarily erase every record. The 60-day pending-signup rule is not a retention period for confirmed subscribers.
This privacy-notice page
This privacy-policy page is hosted using OpenAI Sites. The hosting service processes technical requests to deliver, maintain and protect the page. We have not added advertising pixels or analytics scripts to this page.
Privacy questions and requests
Contact privacy@hjmodecraft.com with questions or requests about your signup information. Our business email service handles correspondence sent to this address. We use the information you provide to understand and respond to your request. We may ask for enough information to verify that a request concerns your signup before disclosing or deleting information. Please do not send habit content or sensitive documents unless we explain why they are needed.
Changes to this notice
We will keep the current policy and its effective date at this location. Before a material change takes effect, we will provide a clear notice through the affected service, such as an in-app notice or an email to affected waitlist subscribers. We will request permission before using information for a new optional purpose.
